The Popular Hi-Desert Cultural Center Classical Concert Series Continues with Exciting New Wind Trio

JOSHUA TREE, CA - Imagine the deep resonate sounds of the bassoon intertwined with the playful accompaniment of an oboe, all underscored by the fullness of a grand piano. This is what attendees will surely experience as the Hi-Desert Cultural Center continues to bring excellence to its Classical Concert Series. Internationally-acclaimed musician, Judith Farmer, returns to the Blak Box venue at the Hi-Desert Cultural Center as part of an exciting new wind trio. Bassoon (Judith Farmer), oboe (Jennifer Johnson) and piano (Pauline Yang) perform superb selections from Bach, Rachmaninoff, Schumann, Wolfgang, Tansman, and Poulenc -- spanning the centuries from the Baroque, Romantic, 20th Century, and Modern periods. As part of this special engagement, noted Los Angeles composer, Gernot Wolfgang will be present as the trio performs some of his more recent romantic classical compositions.

Come to the Center's Blak Box Theater for a most entertaining & delightful afternoon concert. The Sunday matinee concert begins at 2 pm with doors opening at 1 pm on March 25, 2012. The Blak Box venue is located at 61231 Twentynine Palms Highway in Joshua Tree just behind the Kaye Ballard Theater. Light complimentary desserts and coffee are included in the $20 ticket price. ABOUT THE KAYE BALLARD THEATER 90-DAY FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN:

Following a generous $25,000 donation made by William Gillespie of the William Gillespie Foundation, where Gillespie recognized the Center's plan as "an impressive revitalization project for the community", the Center has received an incredible offer from a donor who wishes to remain anonymous at this time to match DOLLAR FOR DOLLAR all donations made to help finish the final renovation phase of the 300-seat theater, up to $125,000 with a bonus of $50,000 if the full $125,000 is raised within 90 days. That would mean $125,000 in donations turns into $300,000 - which is enough to finish the main theater, and enough to open its doors and bring new opportunities for employment, education, and entertainment to the Desert communities and beyond...Bullet MORE INFO
