Hi-Desert Cultural Center's
Philharmonic to Perform
"The Phantom of the Opera"

JOSHUA TREE, CA - The Joshua Tree Philharmonic will share the hauntingly romantic music and mystery of Broadway's longest-running musical masterpiece, The Phantom of the Opera this June 1-10, 2012 in an end-of-season celebration at the Hi-Desert Cultural Center's state-of-the-art Blak Box Theater.

Under the direction of Maestro Jarrod Radnich, the Philharmonic will perform timeless selections from Andrew Lloyd Webber's hit musical including Think of Me, Angel of Music, The Phantom of the Opera, The Music of the Night, and more, with a special surprise grand finale that includes the entire audience. These special concerts commemorate The Phantom of the Opera having just celebrated a record-breaking 10,000 performances on stages throughout the world since opening in London, England in the Fall of 1986.

Following the Philharmonic's sold-out run and added performances of The Nutcracker in December, The Phantom of the Opera concert performances are now slated for the first two weekends in June - with Friday and Saturday evenings starting at 7:00 pm, and Saturday and Sunday Matinees beginning at 2:00 pm. All tickets are $15.00 and are selling rapidly. While children five years of age or older are permitted to attend any of the concerts, a special one-time 2:00 pm matinee performance on Saturday, June 2nd will enable children under the age of five to attend and will feature a special pre-concert children's program at 1:30pm, "Meet the Instruments of the Orchestra". Tickets are on sale now and can be reserved by going to www.hidesertculturalcenter.com, or by calling the Box Office at 760.366.3777.

A portion of the ticket proceeds go toward the Hi-Desert Cultural Center's "Desert Music Foundation" music scholarship fund, which provides financial assistance for JPHIL and String Conservatory participants and funds scholarships for the annual Scholarship Concerts & Recitals program held every January. The Hi-Desert Cultural Center is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
